Question For All the Blog Experts...

I've seen several blogs where people say "people found my blog by searching for...X" how do you see how people find your blog? I have something that tells me who's visited my blog, but I can't tell how people find it, like what they search for and then my blog pops up? Is it something I need to add to my blog or am I just not looking in the right place?

  1. In my wordpress blog, the stats are automatic; apparently in blogger you have to add them. You can go to your dashboard and "help" and type the question, but here's the html that came up when I searched for statistics:

  2. It totally helped! I went with Statcounter.com so we'll see how it works! It's funny, I've gone to the blogger help and have never been able to find what I really wanted, guess I just didn't type in the right words! Thanks for your help!

  3. I use sitemeter. Kinda fun to see which weirdo searches lead to your blog!

  4. I use sitemeter too - for me the "location" query is really useful: how many people are browsing, and how many are actually in range of taking my birth classes? I also like being able to see, like you mention, where people are coming from and what their search terms were.

  5. Thanks for the comment! I don't have too much longer in my communities class for this semester. Next semester, I have the second half of the class, since it is yearlong. The plus side is we get to pick a project we want to do (since I was pretty much assigned to this community assessment withouth too much of a choice). :-)

Its nice to get the perspective of an OB nurse who is a fairly new graduate. I want to work in Labor and Delivery when I graduate, so reading your blog gives me hope! Thanks!

    Peace,
